Jarosław Thiel – a Polish cello virtuoso focused mainly on the historical performance of baroque music. First cellist of Dresdner Barockorchester. Since 2006 artistic director of the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and also a musician of Festspiel Orchester Göttingen. Furthermore, he is an educator. He teaches baroque violoncello at Poznan Music Academy.
He graduated from the Poznan Talent School. He studied cello at music academies in Poznan and Lodz and completed post-graduate studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin in the cello of Baroque working with Phoebe Carrai and Markus Möllenbeck (diploma with honors).
He collaborates with the prominent german baroque music institutions such as Cantus Cölln, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin or Gaechinger Cantoray,
He performs as a soloist and chamber musician and took part in many Polish and international festivals of historical music. Also cooperated with the biggest and most important polish baroque music bands.
